Mendo's Ongoing tourney

Well I was thinking of something to go with Ninja Dogs. Then I realized that there is only 1 Tsume Inuzuka Card in the game and its blocked so, here is my entry.




When she is put in play you can search for 1 Ninja Dog and add it to your hand. Then when in healthy status you can add up to 2 stand-by Ninja Dogs to her team when she goes out to attack. Giving you up to a 5 Ninja Team.

I agree..lets wipe the boards. I wasn't that concerned about it since there was such a huge gap. I would say keep the prizes that players have earned. Thank you again to Mendo and all you guys who have given me advice and helped me grow as a card designer.

I have no problem with a board sweep. I think that we should keep our prizes though. I hope that I will become a better card maker as time goes by and hopefully be as good as the better card makers here.

Board sweep makes sense but i think there should at least be some special prize for those who got so many points.

Anyways, here's my entry. Sorry about the big white box. My missions do that... Also, I'd like to point out that that white part is Akamaru for those who can't tell, and the orange is the background.

Here is my Nin dog entry:


The theory for this card is to search for answers in your deck,the more nin dogs you have in your search party the more cards you get to swap out from the top or bottom of your deck.

My REAL entry for this week...



Basically, this is during the Chunin Exam Arc, when Naruto cleverly transforms into a "Kiba" to confuse Kiba. Since there were three Kibas on the Battlefield I thought it'd be pretty cool to have up to 3 Ninja Dogs with the same name to be in play at the same time but the only way to do this would be by having the other 2 copies of himself in your Discard Pile.

So all in all, it gives Haimaru Brother text to all other Ninja Dogs.

The wording also states "other", meaning you can't have a Ninja with the same name as him in play. Therefore, you can't have 3 Akamaru in play in addition to him.

Clone Status made sense on the card because of three "Kiba clones". However, it does allow him to play Rasengan, Giant Rasengan, and Wind Style: Rasen Shuriken. With that in mind with the rest of him, I was convinced he'd have to be a Super Rare.

For the great effect and ability to use ALL Rasengan Jutsu, I thought he'd have to suffer a bit, therefore his stats are a bit low with a 5/0 3/0 that can only be relevant to a team while a Head Ninja.

Because Mission, Jutsu, and Ninja cards are fundamentally different, I think it's very difficult to directly compare them to each other. When I spoke with naruto4ever a short while ago, he mentioned he was working on a new judging system that might make such a situation more managable. I think it's understandable that such a task would take some time to sort.

I imagine internet problems may also be a possibility.

Alright, this week I asked you all to make a card that would help a growing theme: Ninja Dogs. I also asked if a board sweet would be ok, I was glad to see the massive support to that idea. Therefore I am going to do a complete board sweep. Also this is going to be how points are going to be given from now on.
First Place: 5 points
Second Place: 4 Points
Third Place: 3 Points
Others: 2 Points

On to the Judging, this week I said I was going to try a new criteria on judging cards that would make judging any time of card easy/more efficient and this is how it will go:

Grammar: This is the part that is needed Spelling, Capitalization, Punctuation, ect…. (This will be out of 5 points)
Playability: This is where your card will be judged to see if it will be used in any deck types or if its just a useless card (This will be out of 5 points)
Creativity: Is your card creative or is it just a “cookie cutter” card pretty self explanatory. (This will be out of 3 points)
Art: Does your art fit the cards effect/name? (This will be out of 2 points)

Alright as you can see now there will only be a 15 point total judging score a little weird but, hey Im weird.

This is how each category will be broken down:
Grammar:
-.25 points for each misspelled word
-.25 points if there is a word missing
-.25 points for each punctuation mistake
-.25 points for each Capitalization error
-.50 points for each non legit sentence

Playability:
-1 point if the card is playable but there are better cards like it out there
-1 points if the card is to good.
-1 points if the card can be played but takes multiple cards to get its full use
-2 points if the card is unplayable
-5 points if the card is absolute garbage

Creativity:
-.50 points if there is an effect that you just threw on for no reason
-.2 points if the cards effect is just ripped off

Art:
-.25 points if the picture fits the card, but its not the greatest
-.50 points if the picture is over used
-1 points if the picture if completely irrelevant to the card

Grammar: 3.5/5 Here is the break down:
You lost .25 because you needed to add “Valid: Your other Ninjas with “a” “Fang” Combat Attribute get +1/+1. You needed to add the a

Another .25 because receives was misspelled.
Another .25 because Damage was not capitalized
And finally .50 because it should read “Valid: When this Ninja would receive any Damage, you can search your Deck for 1 “Ninja Dog” Ninja reveal it and place it in this Ninja’s Team in any position. (Optional) Then, shuffle your Deck.

I guess it would be played because there aren’t any turn 5 slots taken by a Ninja in a Dog deck. Unless you talk Kakashi but you would probably want the Anbu Days one.

Creativity: 2.5/3

You lost .25 points because the art isn’t the greatest but, there aren’t many out there to begin with.

At the moment we haven’t seen all of the newest set so I am only going to take off 1 point because there could be possible better jutsus.

Creativity: 3/3 Going with the new BR flipping idea Im not sure if that’s good in a Dog deck though.

Art: 1/2 I have to say the picture looks like it doesn’t belong on the card so I have to take off a point.

Playability: 4/5 Looks pretty good, however with the combo that allows you to send out like 10 teams I’m not sure if you would want to use her second effect.

Creativity: 3/3 I have to give it to you nice character choice, and I like the Stat change.

Art: 1.75/2 Its not the greatest but not many pics of Tsume out there.

Art: 1/2 its rough so I have to take a point off.

I have to say when I first read the card I was like Awesome, but when I think about it I think its to soon to go against the new feature in the Naruto CCG.

Creativity: 3/3 Although it’s a little soon it’s a creative card!

Art: 1.5/2 They have used Akamaru urinating on Sakon/Ukon in multiple cards.

You lost a point because I feel this is way to good, I mean I can have like 8 teams of 3 Ninjas with this card. With the combo with the Mission and Jutsu cards that were revealed this card could be way to devastating.

Thank you for the judging. It will be interesting to see how the new criteria works out. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be problematic, but I think you might've made a mistake or two. Specifically in venkelos' and my own entry. If I'm not mistaken, they should both be a little lower, right? Thank you again, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next theme.

Yeah, I too, thought that the points seemed a little weird; I don't mind reading that I won (it's kinda rare ) , but I kinda think it was a typo, unless the judging for types really is that different. I also look forward to the new theme.

Alright, very successful week last week. I believe Judging will now take place on Wednesday the least active day for me. If I happen to miss a day it will be pushed back a day. The new theme is up, and I am looking forward to seeing what you guys/gals think was a sacrifice of importance. Please if you could tell me why you made the card if not thats fine.
