| Okay, the point of this thread is hopefully simple; posting how to questions in a communal environ. I was thinking, most of us probably think we can make cards pretty well, and know one or two people we just PM when we have a quandary, but every once in a while, I at least have wanted to just say "what are people's thoughts on..." and get some answers. I could post that on my own thread, but I have strong reasons to believe that, myself not included, it's a bit of a ghost town, and some other's threads might be, too, while some folks you might PM take a while, get busy, or aren't as into this all as they once might've been. The Bandai site sort of lost some folks when they stopped supporting images, and you might not be sure whose still around there, today. They did, however, have a nice communal card thread, where everyone posted, and everyone could easily(ish) stay current with what other folks were doing, without having to read 8 threads. So, to that end, I am starting this thread so that people can post card-making questions they have, and have the potential to get several answers, maybe even timely. If you want some effect ideas, or input on some proper wordage, you should be able to post here, and have some good potential for some answers. If you just want the good old "I made this card. What do people think?", you should be able to get some input.
I hope that this thread works to its intended end, and if it doesn't, then I suppose it will sink down the list of forgotten threads, and oh well.
So, anybody got some questions?

| i will say something which i think was most questioned.
-font for card name is "allencon demo". it is free, and you can download it for free.
-font in a text box is "elan itc". for the effect name, "valid", "requirements", "target", "effect", "permanent" "counter", use elan medium, size "10", distance between letters "25". -for the rest of the text, use elan book, size "10", distance between letters "25".
if anyone of you need this font, just drop me p.m. with your e-mail address, and i will give it to you for free.

| Thank you; sadly that thought had not even occurred to me. Now, if we can just get a sticky for this, but that might have to wait till we see if anyone asks questions... | |

| ok so i thought i would ask a question, when creating a white border, around a ninja, specifically in photoshop, there seems to be two main methods, a outside glow affect, or adding a white stroke. i personally use stroke as i think it looks better, but sometimes when the edges just arent clean enough(and im being lazy) ill just use outside glow. so the question is which method do you think is best glow or stroke, or possibly a post of what other method to use. also what should the size of the stroke or glow be, the occupancy so on and so forth. | |

| And see, I'm already going to use this thing myself. I am working on a card of one of my OCs, and it is supposed to be him when he is fused with his Dragon Summon. Jiraiya SM was kind enough to give me some ideas for it, like " Sac: "'Shissuru Kenami' + 'Storm' Combat Attribute", "Melagin" ", or some wordage like that, in a Reinforcement, but I don't know what effect to give him, other than I want a Toughness-like effect. I was thinking of giving him the "decrease all damage taken by 1" effect I seem to remember a Gaara having, but I'm not sure. Does anyone else have an idea of what I could put to reflect that my Sharingan-bearing, Ranton-wielding Chunin is now covered in true (steel) blue dragon scales? | |

| Umm... As for me, I usually just do kanji image searches in Google, and make them work/fit. I use something at 3.8, but it won't tell me what it is; it just says Parade, which is what the program does when it doesn't know. I think it might just be regualr Arial, a nice, sans serif font. Judges like in the Ultimate Tourney can probably tell the difference, and dock points, but I think it looks really close, for when you're just making stuff for fun. | |

Adobe Illustrator is the best as far as I am concerned. I however do not have illustrator so Adobe Photoshop and the Pen tool are my best friends.

| i have manga studio 4, adobe photoshop cs5, and adobe illustrator cs5, and im working on line arting some of my newest cards, as well as some of my friends comics, what would be the best way to do this, just using the pen tool to outline the image, and then add shading and such? | |

Well there are a few ways to go about it. I personally pen tool the lines then color in separate layers followed by another layer for shade. You can also try to look up a Lineart Tutorial online I know there are a bunch out there and it may help you figure out your style. OH! as far as coloring goes a rising program is Paint Tool SAI.

With illustrator I have no clue. For the pen tool in Photoshop it shouldnt really be a fast process. Though, I usually line a bunch of things at once. I do this by getting the points set/properly formed. Then by clicking on the pentool Icon they should freeze up allowing you to place more line and eventually making one giant line with one click. Still as time consuming it just makes it easier for myself.
